Every second of every hour of everyone who has ever been given life. The secrets AND the spectacles.
Don't we know this is all being recorded? Every second of every minute, in the dark corners of the universe and the lit ones, It's all on tape! And the only thing that separates us from those destined for destruction is a life lived by His commands. Not simply confessed with the lips. The first command is to love the Lord your God with all your heart. We begin that first and most important command by confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, and believing in our hearts that God has raised Him from the dead. (Rom 10:9) This first, yet often overlooked command has a habit of getting put on a level playing field with the other 9.
We end up paying lip service to an Almighty God.
We don't put God first. We put self first, or job first. Family, friends, food. We even put our idea of God first sometimes, and this is possibly the most dangerous. When our perception of God is off, and therefor our relationship with Him is missing, it can bypass our conscience and it justifies us to ourselves! When Jesus says "away from me, worker of iniquity I don't know you" I truly believe it will have been many proclaiming Christians who didn't take the first command as serious as they should have.
The first command is the greatest for a reason, it doesn't just mean confessing Jesus and believing in our hearts. Seeking God's face and having a serious longing to know Him is the next most important step. A walk that endures. And we must keep in mind, God deeply desires to have that relationship with us! It breaks the Lords heart more than anything when we don't truly know Him. It means we are separate from Him, and that can result in eternal consequences.
The universe and all of creation was made perfect by someone who is perfect. He is so awesome and perfect that when He created us He built in a freewill. A masterful design that permits us to make our own decisions. But of more importance than decision making, it allows us to choose God, and not to be robots, programmed to love. True love is a choice. Light does not exist without darkness, nor hot without cold. Love and hate. Like day and night God shows His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. But we must choose Him.
That ability of choice back fired on us, by our own doing. Not by any chance of matter, but that old crafty serpent, the devil. The rest is history! Mankind has since been in a perpetual fallen state. Fallen because we are now unclean by the Holy cosmic standard of God. But just as we have been perpetually falling, our loving Creator has been perpetually restoring us, that once and for all restoration He did Himself by shedding His Holy blood for us. If you want something done right, you gotta do it your self.
BUT it still takes a conscious decision
Loving God means keeping His commands.
